I'm running into all kinds of interesting and descriptive terms and acronyms in orthopedics. Here's a sample:
WAD: Whiplash Associated Disorder. (Whiplash can cause headaches, sleeplessness, depression, and all sorts of other symptoms. Wow.)
FOOSH: Fall On Outstretched Hand
MVA: Motor Vehicle Accident, usually causes "Deceleration trauma"-- it's not the launch that gets you, it's the abrupt stop when you hit the windshield/ground/tree/other car.
