No, for those of you who asked, I am not under water. I do have power. We have classes today. Life continues unabated, if soggy.
But what really gripes my butt is not the rain. _I generally score below the class average on things_. That really curdles my cheese!*

Date: 2004-09-28 08:19 am (UTC)My nephew Chris was a 4.5 gpa student in highschool (due to AP classes) and when he went to Berkeley he got his first C ever. He was devastated until he accepted the idea that everyone he was competing against for grades was a 4.0 student or better in their previous life. Being average in that group is to be superior to the general population.
Does that help at all?

(I know, I know. I'm competing with a bunch of very bright people. "average" in this class is way above average anywhere else. I had a chat with my academic advisor, who pointed out that much of my brain is full... of divorce related foo, which is gradually filtering out... so I don't currently 100% of my brain available for graduate school use.
A very wise woman, who has an ex-husband of her own, that's her. ;-) She also told me (and more than one professor has told me this) that she got her share of bad grades, and almost flunked out of PT school, but (waves at wall full of certificates behind her) it doesn't seem to have slowed her down.
Okay, okay, I get it. My butt is still griped, but now (after the practical) I have proof of concept: Study like crazy, do well. As night follows day... I can do this.
