Mystery explained
Sep. 9th, 2004 08:04 pmI found out why this module is not easy. Many of the people in my class have athletic training degrees, so they've seen the anatomy and physiology and orthopedics and special tests and sports-related stuff before.
Not me. No, no. I'm seeing lots of this for the first time, but I'm in class alongside people who have degrees in it.
Uguuuuuu..... Will I ever catch up? How long will it take me?
I am noticing, though, that I can tell when the whole class is confused or stressed out.
When we're all confused.... the group dynamics go like this:
M cracks a joke
L, sitting in the back, cracks and squawks and complains
B smirks
C and A start chatting in the back
C in the front, next to me, falls asleep (he's heard it before)
C on the other side twirls her hair furiously
M and C, halfway back on the other side, exchange fed-up glances and start to file their nails or rummage in their tiny, stylish makeup bags
We're all frustrated; most of the class wants to do orthopedics when we graduate, and this is the orthopedics module, so we were hoping for brilliant and incisive instruction that would launch our careers... which is not what we are getting.
Test tomorrow. Lab competencies tomorrow. Back to work.
