ninevirtuesA salmon day, for the uninitiated, is a day you spend swimming upstream all day, only to get screwed in the end. I suspect my general crankiness will shine through my writing, as follows:
9 AM: Anatomy final. Done. Notice I did not say "Well done". Sigh.
10:15 AM, in the bookstore: "What do you mean, you don't sell pencils here? Oh, you only sell packs of pencils. Fine, I guess I can buy twelve pencils at a time. If I can keep track of them, they may last me for my entire graduate career. If."
Two minutes later, a woman in front of me at the cash register has three separate purchases, except she may want a bigger size of something, and she's going to pay for it with two different credit cards, and she's fussing. Efficiency and brevity are clearly not tops on her list today, but they are definitely tops on mine.
"Ma'am, may I hop line and buy my pack of pencils with cash, please?"
Thank God she let me do that. Otherwise I would have tried to strangle her with her new 50/50 poly cotton Elon sweatshirt. ;-)
