So, we had the sex, bowel, and bladder function talk in class yesterday.

Picture this: If you are treating a spinal cord injury patient, you have to deal with their bowel and bladder function (because, chances are, they can't take care of it themselves.)

We squirmed. We giggled. This was not a topic like knee function (which we're happy to discuss at length). In fact, the ONLY thing worse than being the physical therapist who has to take care of that... is being the patient who has to have it done to you.

Okay, that one fails the racetrack test: At one point, I had someone try to interest me in grooming horses at the track. (A good groom can apparently make $2000 per month, if he/she can take on up to four horses at a time. How about that.) At the time, I was headed for college, so I politely declined... but the option stuck with me, especially when commutes were long and deadlines were short.

Well, the idea of professionally engaging in phincter management has me considering that again.

Sigh....
