Pick a group
Pick a topic
Write a draft proposal for a publishable research paper
Submit the forms to take it through an IRB, if necessary, and it probably will be. (An IRB is an institutional review board; you need your research reviewed by them if you plan to use human subjects.)
Collect pilot data
Write the paper
Rewrite the paper. (Not all of our papers will be published, but some of them will be.)
So much for my mellow fall term. Ah well!
